Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms govern your use of DeckFoundry, including the free estimator and the DeckFoundry Pro subscription (together, the "Service"), operated by DeckFoundry, a sole proprietorship based in Georgia, USA ("DeckFoundry," "we," "us").
The Service
DeckFoundry provides deck estimating tools, including structural sizing checks referenced against published IRC prescriptive tables, material takeoffs, and job pricing. The free estimator requires no account. DeckFoundry Pro is a paid subscription that adds saved projects, Site Log, Punch List, and Budget tracking.
Estimates are not engineering
DeckFoundry's structural checks are a planning aid based on published prescriptive tables. They are not a substitute for a licensed engineer's stamped design, and they do not account for every site condition, local amendment, or jurisdiction-specific requirement. You are responsible for verifying any estimate, structural check, or material takeoff against your local building code and permitting authority before construction. DeckFoundry is not liable for construction outcomes, code violations, permit denials, or costs arising from reliance on an estimate.
Accounts
Creating an account requires an email address. You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
Subscriptions and billing
DeckFoundry Pro is billed monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. See the Refund Policy below for cancellation terms. We may change pricing for new subscribers at any time; changes do not apply retroactively to your locked-in rate unless you cancel and resubscribe later.
Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to violate the law, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or resell access without our written permission.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service, or cancel a paid subscription, at any time.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DeckFoundry is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to construction costs, project delays, or code compliance issues.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Policy explains what information DeckFoundry collects and how it's used.
Information we collect
- Account information: the email address you sign up with.
- Business profile (optional): your business name, address, phone number, email, license number, and logo, plus the labor rates, fees, and markup settings you enter. These appear on your estimates and documents.
- Project data: deck dimensions, material selections, saved projects, Site Log entries, Punch List items, and Budget entries you create in DeckFoundry Pro, including the details you type into them.
- Temporary document copies: when you create a proposal, contract, or similar document in the iPhone app, a copy is stored at a private link for up to one hour so it can open in Safari, and is then deleted.
- Subscription information: your plan status and a Stripe customer ID that links your account to your subscription.
- Payment information: subscription payments are processed by Stripe. DeckFoundry does not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly.
- Usage analytics: aggregate, non-identifying usage data, such as which features are used and rough deck-size ranges. We also store the website you arrived from (hostname only) on your device to understand how people find us.
How we use it
To operate the Service, maintain your saved projects, process subscription billing, understand which features are used, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Third parties
We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing
- Netlify — hosting, account authentication, and database storage
- Plausible Analytics — aggregate usage analytics. It reports usage in aggregate and does not track you across other websites or apps.
Data retention
Account and project data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from the Profile page in the app (Profile, then Delete account). Deleting your account permanently removes your projects and other saved data, cancels any active subscription immediately, and removes your login. Payment records are retained by Stripe as required by law. You may also request deletion by emailing us. We complete deletion requests within 30 days of confirming the request is from you.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data or request deletion by contacting deckfoundry2026@gmail.com.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
Refund Policy
Last updated: October 2026
DeckFoundry Pro subscriptions are billed in advance and are non-refundable, including partial periods.
Cancel anytime
You can cancel your subscription at any time from within the app (Profile → Manage subscription). Cancellation stops future billing — your access continues through the end of the period you've already paid for, and you will not be charged again after that.
Billing issues
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at deckfoundry2026@gmail.com and we'll look into it.
